Ryuji Sakamoto

Underneath all that delinquent like behavior and image, Ryuji is a rather kindhearted person who’s still trying to cope with the loss of his athlete career thanks to the injury he suffered at Kamoshida’s hand. He cares a lot about his family, which means his mother as she’s the only one that is left. His father was an alcoholic and beat him and his mother, then just left.

He still is trying hard to help his mother out, especially after she had apologized to him for being a single mother, which of course wasn’t necessary in his eyes. However it rather showed him that he’s a bad son, which he still believes. Besides all of that, Ryuji deeply cares for his friends and people around him in general. He’s extremely loyal and has a strong sense of right and wrong.

Personality

He’s known to have a quite cheerful personality, however he’s also loud, full of energy, gets easily offended and has a very short temper. Unfortunately because of his very blunt nature he happens to occasionally hurt people, as well as reveal himself as a phantom thief. His habit of rather yelling than talking adds to that as well. However he’s also very passionate and tells you exactly what’s on his mind without any hesitation whatsoever.

Apart from being on the track-team, Ryuji does muscle training as well. He can drink a 500mL bottle of carbonated water in one go which he did as training during his track and field club days. When he was active, he could also do 1000mL bottles. Unfortunately Ryuji gets rather impatient very fast and has a habit of tapping his toes on the ground. He prefers to come straight to the point. When asked if he reads, he claims to read nothing but manga, which is certainly correct. Besides that he’s also a gamer and crazy for ramen, but is very picky about flavor and texture of the noodles. He’s also known to be a pervert and he doesn’t deny that.
